The Livestock Protection Company manufactures long spring traps for professional trappers and research use. Our traps are built with durable cast moving parts, factory-installed under-pan tension springs, and rounded offset jaws designed to minimize foot damage.
At a glance
- Moving parts are cast from stainless steel, silicon bronze, and carbon steel.
- Under-pan tension springs help avoid accidental capture of smaller non-target species.
- Trigger dogs on the larger traps are handmade from chrome-vanadiam steel.
- Thick, rounded, offset jaws are intended to minimize foot damage and eliminate the need for lamination.
- Trap setting tools are available for the larger traps.
- Trap adjusting tools are available for the smaller sizes.
- LPC also offers an EZ Grip rubber padded model for researchers.

EZ Grip traps
Our EZ Grip traps are designed for research-oriented use and have performed strongly in international trap-standard testing.
- The EZ Grip trap scored the highest in recent government tests conducted for international trap standards.
- LPC manufactures the EZ Grip trap in sizes 3 1/2, 4, 7, and 8.
- These traps are used by researchers who want to capture and release animals with minimum foot damage.
- The recessed jaws allow additional rubber inside the jaws to increase absorption of the initial shock.
- The jaw configuration helps prevent animals from removing the rubber with their teeth.
